Without Dancing

The other day at Emmett’s last Breakthrough rehearsal, we all got in a little circle and Emmett started talking. I remember him saying, ”If you never started dancing, where would you be right now? Who would you be? What kind of people would you be hanging out with? What would you be wearing?” I just sat there and really started to think about it, and I still couldn’t think of anything. I was still thinking about that question even when I got home. Still nothing… until it hit me. I thought to myself, that if I couldn’t think of who I would be right now with out dance, I would probably be nothing

Dancing is the only thing that makes me who I am today and honestly nothing else makes me feel so alive. Dancing is my medicine that makes me feel good and makes me feel good about myself. Dancing is my brain because I can’t go a day without thinking about dancing. Dancing is my best friend because without dancing, I wouldn’t have met the people I know today through dancing. Dancing is my light that brightens up my day no matter how I’m feeling. Dancing is my life, because without dancing… just like I said, I would probably be nothing. I know it sounds cheesy and all… but I don’t know any other way to explain it because that is how I truely feel about dancing. I’m sure a lot of other people who are dancers feel the same way.

We all start dancing because we think it looks “cool” or it looks like “fun”. Don’t count me wrong, dancing is fun and it is cool. However, once you keep on dancing you’ll find more and more meaning behind it each day. You’ll learn to love dance more and more each day, and you’ll start to find the growth in you more and more each day, you’ll find the changes in you more and more each day. Dancing really does change peoples lives in a very positive way. It definitely changed my life in a positive way. Dancing helps me throughout my hard times, dancing leads me to long lasting friendships, dancing is what makes me the person I am today. I am so thankful for having dance as a part of my life.

Day 4 — Your sibling (or closest relative)

Dear little sissy,

You make me laugh, you make me annoyed, you make me happy, you make me frustrated at times…. but I guess that’s what little sisters do. I love you little sissy and I always will. I just want to let you know that I’m always going to be there for you no matter what. I’m going to try to be the best role model I could possibly be for you. I know were 9 years apart, but we are still very close to each other and I always want it to stay that way. I want to let you know that you can always come to me for anything and I will be there to help you. I hope you have a great future ahead of you… I know you will. I love you!

Love,

Sissy

This is my little sister’s hamster Lucky and she is very sick at the moment. She won’t eat or drink and she has gotten really skinny. I would appreciate if you would say a little prayer for this sweet hamster. I know she’s just a hamster, but this hamster means so much to my family and especially my little sister. We’ve hardly had her for a year and she doesn’t deserve this. Lucky is a very sweet and loving hamster and brings a smile to who ever holds her. So please pray for her, it would mean a lot.
Thank you:)

Day 3 — Your parents

Dear Parents,

Mom: I love you with all my heart. I can always talk to you about anything and you will always be there to help me.  I am so lucky to have a mom like you, because we always get along and whenever we do have a little argument, we always seem to get over it really easily. I know that you are in a hard time right now and life at the house is hectic, but I think what you’ve taught me the most is to stay strong. I’ve seen you been put up with tough obstacles such as, arguments, stress, pain, breast cancer, etc. But what I’ve noticed most about you is that you are one strong woman and you always stay true to yourselfThat’s what I want to take over from you mom, I need your strength. I honestly don’t know how you put up with “IT”, but somehow you manage to do so. Mom there are so many more things that I could write about you because we have gone through so much together. I love you mommy and thank you for always being there for me by my side. I love you!

Dad: Wow what can I say about you dad?! Well first off, I love you. And second, you are a total goff ball!! You always know how to make me laugh and turn my bad days around. I love spending time with you and I wish we could spend more time together. I really wish I could see you more often because no matter when I see you, you always make my day. I know you have been going through hard times to, you’re pretty much the same story as my mom. You are not just strong but a believer. No matter what you always tell me that I believe that this is going to happen, or I believe things are going to be okay. No matter how many times you fall you always get right back up and do it again. And that’s what I admire most about you. Not only are you funny and can make anyone’s day… but you are a believer and a great father.

Love your child,

Cassidy

Day 1 — Your Best Friend

Dear Katherine,

Every adult has their childhood friend, and this girl right here… She is my ultimate childhood friend. We’ve known each other for what…? 12 years!! ALMOST 13!! Man the time goes by fast! I remember my first time going into pre school and you wanted to play with me:) I felt so happy that someone would actually want to play with me! Anyways, we practically grew up together like sisters. I mean… there was the tongue sticking out at each other, punching in the stomach for a cup cake, sticking up for you because of an Oreo… etc. (You know the stories) I am so happy that I can call you my best friend because we really are… best friends, no questions asked! It sucks now that we live so far away and we can hardly see each other anymore, but whenever we hang out it’s like we were little kids again just playing around and having a good ol’ time!:D I love you SO much because you know why?? Because you are my sister and I will always be there to look after you no matter what. I really think we need to hang out again soon because I miss being a little kid! And we need to get boba!!:D Anyways, bottom line is that you are my best friend and you will always be my best friend. No one could ever take your place! NO WAY NO HOW!

Love your childhood friend,

Cassidy
